The overall goal of the Academy is to accelerate Africa’s productivity, growth, economic inclusion, and adaptability of the workforce in the 21st century.

Target Audience

The Academy caters to the labour market relevant skills and competency needs of early-and mid-career professionals and young graduates across
various industries including but not limited to business, tourism, fisheries, agriculture, information and communication technologies (ICT), healthcare, and finance. Special attention will be given to individuals
seeking career advancement, skill diversification and those aspiring to become successful entrepreneurs.

Equity, Quality and Efficiency

As a guiding principle, we seek equitable access, quality and relevance,and efficiency in our investments in capacity building, by providing wide access to opportunities for skills acquisition, learning that builds skills to meet labour market demands and value-for-money in the financing and provision of training to minimize waste of resources.

Funding and Sustainability

At the heart of the Academy’s sustainability plan is to create structures
and processes that perform over the long term. Securing financial
support through a combination of public and private funding,
contributions, grants, and partnerships are vital for the sustainability of
the Academy. Other revenue generation ventures such as consultancy
services, fees for non-sponsored programs, and collaborative research are
being explored to contribute to the long-term viability of the academy.
